Point Mobile SetupMobile users in Point® and PointCentral® require a key to enable their device for mobile access to Point. The mechanism for retrieving this key and applying it to individual mobile devices is different for each system. Individual Point mobile users have an activation key that uniquely identifies them. They must enter this key into their mobile device before they can gain access to Point. PointCentral sites have one digital key which is used by all mobile users and is managed at the site level. This key is renewed automatically for sites that allow Calyx access to their PointCentral server. Sites that have a firewall and do not allow outside access, must re-activate their key manually each month through MyCalyx®. PointPoint mobile users are managed by the MyCalyx Administrator in MyCalyx. The MyCalyx Administrator adds mobile users and initiates e-mails to them that include their mobile activation keys. The mobile users are set up and managed on the Point Mobile™ page. The Point Mobile page contains statistics pertaining to the number of mobile users for the site and the active or unused status of each user. A search filter is also available to search for specific mobile users. To set up mobile Point users:
The Point User ID is created in Point by the Point Administrator and must be established before a mobile user can activate their mobile device. When the Point User ID field is updated, the Status changes to active, and the last activity field is populated with the current date. PointCentralPointCentral mobile users are managed on the PointCentral server by the PointCentral Administrator. In addition to the summary and status information, the PointCentral Manage Point Installations page also shows the total number of mobile users. PointCentral mobile users require a digital key to activate their mobile devices; however, only one digital key is used for the entire site and is managed at the site level. The digital key also requires regular renewals. Attention: This key is a required if you are doing a new installation or an update. If you are doing a new installation or update and your PointCentral server has an internet connection, the MyCalyx digital key is automatically retrieved after the PointCentral Configuration Wizard is completed. If you are doing a new installation or update and you do not have an internet connection, you must enter the MyCalyx digital key in the PointCentral parameters. Refer to the PointCentral Installation instructions in the PointCentral User Guide for details about completing the digital key information. If you are doing a manual renewal, refer to the help topic, Renewing the PointCentral digital key. From initial application through trailing documents – including secondary marketing, Calyx has you covered. |
