Loan Checklist

Point 6.1 makes it easy to manage your loan tasks—from loan marketing through processing. Streamline all phases of loan origination by setting up templates for each type of loan that your company promotes and processes. And once a loan is initiated, Point makes it simple to stay on top of every document associated with it. Residing in the new Information Bar, the Loan Checklist displays the status of all incoming and outgoing documents that pertain to a loan. Using the Loan Status screen, you can specify which documents to track. The ones you select will appear in the Loan Status Checklist, ensuring that you always know the status of every document associated with your loan—instantly.

Updated Forms and Screens

To enhance productivity and maintain compliance with the latest federal regulations, Point 6.1 includes several updated forms and screens—all of which make it faster and easier to get your job done.

Good Faith Estimate

As a result of regulatory updates in many states, the Good Faith Estimate has been updated with several new fields, including to whom an item has been paid, the company name to which the fee has been paid, and who paid the item. The Summary section of the GFE screen has been updated to total all fees separately, and to show the Details of Transaction to balance the GFE with the Loan Application. The GFE printout is updated to print on letter-size paper and print only the fees that have been entered. All fees not entered on the screen will not be printed. In addition, a new Summary page has been added that details the breakdown of Closing Costs in an easy-to-read fashion. At the bottom of the Summary page is a new “Notes” box that enables you to enter any additional details you would like to give to the borrower.

California Mortgage Loan Disclosure Statement

Page 1 of the California Mortgage Loan Disclosure Statement has been removed and consolidated with the Good Faith Estimate. The Good Faith Estimate will now carry over fields to Page 1 of the MLDS printed form.

Note: As of the time of this release, the California Department of Real Estate had not yet finalized or published the final rule and respective MLDS forms. Therefore, these changes have not been incorporated into this release, but will be included in a subsequent update.

Loan Application

With an enhanced interface, the Point loan application screens are even easier to use. Categories with multiple entries—such as Employers, Assets, Liabilities, and Real Estate Owned—now display the entries in list form by section.

Initial ARM Disclosure Statement

In some states, borrowers must receive an Initial ARM Disclosure Statement in addition to the initial disclosure statements that are required when a borrower applies for an adjustable rate mortgage. Although Point 6.1 includes a generic version of the Initial ARM Disclosure Statement, please check with your lender to see if a different version is required.

Truth in Lending

The Truth in Lending statement now prints on letter-size paper, making it easier for borrowers to receive via fax.

Updated Banker Screens

The banker screens in Point 6.1 have been reorganized to support your workflow more effectively and new fields have been added to ensure that you capture all the data that you need to process loans.

Track Menu

Complete with a new look and enhanced functionality, the Track menu features a new Status screen that replaces the General screen. Also new, the Title screen tracks preliminary title data, title conditions, and title report requirements. The Manager screen is now called Loan Profit/Loss to better reflect its functionality—tracking loan revenue.

New Marketing Tool

Accessible from the Personal Info button at the bottom of the Borrower Information screen, the new Personal Information dialog box contains even more fields for tracking facts about your borrowers, including interests and hobbies, children, and more. This type of data can help you market your products and services to customers in more targeted and effective way.

Calyx Network Updates

Point 6.1 adds three new categories to the Services Menu—Closing Documents, Hazard Insurance, and Initial Disclosures—making it even faster and easier to get the services you need right from your Point screens.

Closing Documents

When you're ready to close a loan, simply order your closing documents in Point. Documents are sent directly to your Point software, where they can be saved and printed.

Hazard Insurance

Ordering hazard insurance quotes in Point is simple—no signup is required and the service is free of charge. By obtaining a quote, you can determine your borrower's total loan payment and debt-to-income ratio more accurately. Quotes are returned to Point and stored with the corresponding loan file, making the process quick and convenient.

Initial Disclosures

Ordering initial disclosures from the Services menu in Point is simple. Depending on the vendor you select, you can get state-specific disclosures and disclosures in Spanish. Your request is processed instantly and disclosures are sent directly to Point, where you can save and print them.
